Introducing the CDK Drive Repair Order App Programming Interface (API), designed specifically for Fortellis. This newly created API gives contracted third-party software vendors the ability to safely and securely open and edit service repair orders within CDK Drive.

With Repair Order API, dealers can now do the following:

  • Manage repair orders within any participating app, increasing service department efficiency
  • Improve end-user experiences through faster data access and lower latency
  • Increase customer choices with an ecosystem of apps for managing repair orders

The Repair Order API gives dealerships and software developers access to the full lifecycle of a repair order, including creating a repair order record, adding services, and the creation and approval of additional service requests.

Included in this new API is a complete repair order workflow orchestration of five supporting APIs, available for the first time through Fortellis:

Service Vehicles API
OpCodes API
Service Customer API
Vehicle Specifications API
Repair Order API

Scaling efficiency in the Service lane

Both Xtime, a scheduling and processing service solution from Cox Automotive, and GoMoto, a kiosk that offers an enhanced service check-in experience, have beta tested and are now using the CDK Repair Order API through Fortellis to expand the capabilities of existing service-related apps.

“The CDK Drive Repair Order API gives a level of customization to dealers who want to push the envelope when it comes to their Service department process, and realize the benefits of all-around service improvement.” — Todd Marcelle, CEO, GoMoto

Mobile scheduling and service updates with Xtime

Xtime Inspect and Engage products provide dealers with the ability to offer mobile scheduling, check-in, and service updates to customers.

The integration between the Repair Order API and Xtime gives Service Advisors and Technicians the one-stop solution they need to resolve repair orders, driving a more efficient experience for both dealerships and customers.

“The streamlined workflow that CDK Drive Repair Order API offers to Service Advisors and Technicians can have an immediate, positive impact on how customers interact with a dealership Service department,” said Tracy Noonan Fred, vice president and general manager, Xtime.

Self-service vehicle check-in by GoMoto

GoMoto uses the Repair Order API to power self-serve vehicle check-in kiosks with more useful features to drive Service profitability. The enhanced check-in solution uses the Fortellis API connection to give flexibility to Service Advisors and time back to customers.

“As a company that prides itself on understanding dealer pain points, we could see that the open repair order process was sorely needed in dealership Service departments,” said Todd Marcelle, CEO, GoMoto. “The CDK Drive Repair Order API gives a level of customization to dealers who want to push the envelope when it comes to their service department process, and realize the benefits of all-around service improvement.”

One of many APIs for developers and apps for dealers

The Repair Order API is one of the APIs that CDK Global has developed exclusively for use on the Fortellis platform. Developers interested in connecting to Repair Order or any other active APIs can do so through our API Directory. Dealers looking for apps that use the Repair Order API can browse new offerings in the Fortellis Marketplace.
